Objective: Freelance travel writing

Writing Background:

My writing credentials include travel articles published in The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Miami Herald, South American Explorer, BootsnAll, Viator Travel Blog, the Frommer book titled The Smart Traveler's Passport: 399 Tips from Seasoned Travelers, and articles in regional publications.

Travel Experience:

I am an independent travel addict who has visited 67 countries and made life-changing personal decisions to support my travel habit.  After retiring in 2005, my husband and I sold our house, our cars, our furniture, and most of our personal belongings in order to travel the world.  After unburdening ourselves of all that stuff, we spent 259 days on the road visiting 19 countries and 95 cities and towns.  As an encore in 2006, we spent six months visiting Greece, Croatia and much of Western Europe.  We have since settled down (somewhat), but still hit the road every chance we get taking two extensive trips every year.

Speaking:

I have developed and presented the following programs: "Around the World in 259 Days," "How to Become a Travel Writer;" "How to Travel Anywhere in the World on Your Own," and "Broaden your Studies Abroad: Conquer Culture Shock and Explore the World on your Own."
